Respiratory Management Children’s Healthcare Training

This course is aimed at carers and parents caring for children and young people in the community who need help in clearing their secretions. This can include breathing for themselves, those with a tracheostomy, or those on ventilation (CPAP or BIPAP). Learners will learn about how secretions can affect the respiratory system, the reasons why the child may need help to clear their secretions and the complications that can occur if appropriate chest clearance is not achieved.

This course is intended to support the individual to learn the theory and skills to follow a respiratory or physiotherapy plan that has been completed by a Physiotherapist, Nurse or Doctor. There will be time available for questions surrounding individual patient care plans.

This course has been designed based on current best practice in the NHS.

This course is suitable for :
Nurses, Carers and Parents.

Certification :
You will receive a certificate for attending this course. If you require to be signed off as competent in caring for a child or young person respiratory management we can organise with you to come out to your place of work to sign you off.If the facilitators notice that you will require some support to achieve the objectives then you will receive further facilitator support during the session to enable you to achieve them.
